Spanish is a language I’ve always wanted to learn. I want to be a multilingual speaker, not just bilingual. My dream of getting into a top college, like Harvard, also serves as motivation. I think it will better my chances of getting in if I take Spanish all four years of high school. Even though I try my best to keep those things in my mind, I do find myself discouraged at times. I’m a fast learner, but when it comes to learning another language, it’s so difficult. I know learning another language isn’t supposed to be easy, but that’s the only thing I’ve struggled picking up.          As I continue my studies in Spanish, I hope to learn more about the Spanish culture and the traditions. I of course have my own, but there are so many things out there that I want more knowledge on. I want to be able to do the Bachata and study abroad in Spain. I also want to be fluent in Spanish by the end of my school years. 

While taking Spanish with NCVPS, there are many things that I can take away from my experience. I really liked how the coursework was set up and the content we learned. I have learned far more Spanish from NCVPS than I ever did when I actually went to school. Despite the many pros of this course, there are cons too. I didn’t enjoy listening to audio recordings, then answering the questions that went along with them. That was extremely difficult, but that’s probably only because it’s meant to prepare me for the future. 

NCVPS didn’t just offer great courses, they also offered amazing teachers. Señora Gillen has helped me so much this semester. I can tell she enjoys teaching. She took her time to thoroughly look through each and every assignment I turned in. She made sure to tell me what I need to work on and the things I did well with. She responded in a timely manner to any texts I sent her and constantly reached out to check up on me. I think she did an excellent job as a teacher and there is nothing I would want to change about her. She has been a tremendous help!
