Food insecurity is very common in rural areas. Food insecurity is important because food is a quality everyone needs. With a lack of food you can become very sick and in some cases lead to death.

Afghanistan has been suffering from food insecurity very recently. Since around 2021 people in Afghanistan have been eating less. As of 2022 around 15 million people in Afghanistan have been suffering from lack of food due to an economic crisis. Another cause is the droughts taking place in Afghanistan. There is not enough food so many families are resorting to farming. But due to the drought families cannot grow much and even the little bits of food they grow isn't enough to support themselves. The support from other countries such as the U.S also stopped which was a big factor in there lack of money and jobs.
