Family makes up a large part of my identity, mostly because the influence they have all had on me.From my bad experiences with them, to the good one's all of them have made me the way I am today. Also letting me know that I can't let other people make me who I am, but learn from them instead. My dad pasted away from colon cancer when I was nine years old, making me go through rough times. But now I've learn from all the damage and it has made me a better person.

School has taught me much to learn as far as life goes. No, not the academic things, but the experience and the drama. School itself is stress with nothing said but the friends that I have lost and gained have contributed a lot to my identity. My humor, my style and maturity being with friends my age have to me much of my social identity. Being able to adapt to where I am and being able to show my identity clear when I meet someone.

Cheer was something that I've did when I was little but not seriously. Doing this sport has made me confident and made me want to try harder with everything I do in life. Cheer also makes me want to learn more about it, and even continue it in college.

Dance is something that helped me express and relieve the pain that I went through my whole life. I went through a lot of depression and paranoia as a child, and I even still continue to suffer from it , but dance is one way that I could always bring my self back to being happy. I never knew that movement could make everything that was bad be forgotten in a instant second. Dance definitely plays a BIG role in my identity.

Being African-American is a blessing, but it comes with a lot of good's and bad's.Truly I struggled with this part of my identity, when I was in elementary from the first year of middle school. During those years I used to be ashamed of my culture, my skin and I used to act like someone I was not. Now being as educated as I am in my culture and my identity, I don't think that same. My culture has it's downsides just like any other and I am happy to say that I feel comfortable with my self this way.

Living life as a woman is wonderful, knowing that form the two genders there are, I am the stronger one. Living in the body of a female has made me realize my worth and how strong and proud of my self I am. Although we go through the most painful experiences physically, and get treated not as equal as we should, being a woman has made me confident in myself. Hopefully we can change the standards of women and what we have to be, look or do for anyone's satisfaction. I did used to be scared that something would happen to me, or the surgeries I would go through, but that fear has helped sculpt me identity as a woman.

Heartbreak was experience that messed up my identity for the worse. I wanted to change myself for someone else's liking so that they could be comfortable around me. But now that I look back I am happy that God took me out of that horrible mindset I was in for so long. I've learned that I am not here to please anyone, but to live my life the was I want to make myself happy. After being this person that I couldn't recognize I went back to being my true self and being whats best for me.
