Once Rebecca Skloot came along and became friends with Deborah, she encouraged her to start investigating. One of the lines in this song goes "This is for the ones who stood their ground." This line in particular contains a direct connection with Deborah. She stood her ground when her family told her to stop pursuing information about their mother. Everyone else wanted to move on from her cells. This song talks about the dark side of the world, and what people do when they think no one's watching. Much like how the doctors at John's Hopkins thought they could take Henrietta's cells without asking for consent.
