The plan was to lure the SS officers to a storehouse where they think they will be given new coats and boots. <br> Once inside, with help from Thomas Blatt, the prisoners would attack the officers with axes and knives. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The plan took place on October 14th of 1943. At 4:00, with a blow of an axe, the first SS soldier was killed. More were killed, and electricity lines and wires were cut, so there was no ability for communication. The camp was burning, guns were aimed, and prisoners were fleeing all within an hour after the first soldier was killed.<br><br> There is a movie made about the events, called "Escape from Sobibor". </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> He was born on February 22, 1909. <br> He was placed in the Soviet Red Army on June 22, 1941. He was captured in October, a few months after being placed in the army. He was placed in Sobibór in September of 1943. After only 22 days he lead the escape from the camp.<br> Pechersky escaped, and when he found other Russians, he was put on trial, and had to fight on the front lines. <br> He survived the front lives. For surviving he was awarded the medal of bravery. He was also was promoted to captain.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> About half the prisoners escaped during the resistance. Most died crossing the minefields or by Nazis. The people who escaped either joined partisan units. About 50 of the survivors survived the war.<br> Shortly after the uprising, the camp was destroyed and replaced with trees.</div>]]></description>
