1.  If you are gonna be in 5th grade, be prepared for the very first day.

2. Don’t worry about the teachers. They are friendly and have fair rules.

3. Be organized as good as you can. The teachers are expecting that, but it’s not easy.

4. Try your very best to be on time or your gonna have to run the whole way depending on where you are.

5. Wake up at about 6:30 and don’t wake up to early or late.

6. Pay attention in class. Before talking to you privately, they kind of call you out a little bit but they don’t say your name they just say, (EX)”Hey, (insert table group here), stop talking!”

7. Be a good example. Every other grade looks up to you and does YOUR actions. If you mess around, they mess around with you. If you be good, they’ll be good to. Make sure you be good so they can be too.

8. Grab everything you need for the day. Make sure you have your writing for writing class, math books for math class, and social studies and science folder(depending on which class your going to) for social studies/science.

9. Don’t be sad about the last day. There will also be more years at Saratoga, just not the same place. Like middle school.

2. Be kind. Kindness is something that is hard to acquire but it is the thing that can save you from harsh situations time and time again. Even if somebody is mean to you, kindness is the only true way to win, even  if it doesn't seem like it.

3. Be organized. I know organizing isn't fun but it reaaallllyy helps when you need to find something. 

4. Be responsible. Taking ownership for the things you do is a hard thing to do but it will save you a lot of trouble. Responsibility is also making sure you get your work done on time with reasonable standards.

5. Be honest to yourself. If somebody does something you don't like even if it's your friend, say something. Being quiet about it won't get you anywhere tell the person who is doing something you don't like, tell them it's wrong. If they don't listen tell a teacher, a guardian, somebody, so that you are listened to and respected.

6. Be healthy. If you are in class and/or a public place make sure not to touch your nose or mouth directly as it spreads germs to your hands, nose and mouth.

7. Don't run inside. Running inside is the worst thing you could do. You become a hazard that can hurt somebody and yourself. You can bump into people, get carpet or hurt your head terribly. Just make sure you don't run inside and you are safe.

8. Make good choices. Nothing is worse than making a choice you regret and want to go back and fix. You can't go back and fix bad actions of yours. No matter how hard you try. If you hurt somebody and you say sorry, that person will never fully trust you again. So don't make that choice.

9. Raise your hand. Nothing is more annoying than somebody who can't sit still with a question right in the middle of a teacher talking. By raising your hand you don't talk over your teacher but you still let them know you have a question.

10. Have fun! Stressing over things too much really dulls the mood. Loosen up! Learn to laugh! After all, you have an entire life ahead of you. If the moment our are living in is bad think about the times ahead of you.
