Women in Afghanistan fought for the rights the were granted and out of that Afghan women were free. They were able to run for office if they pleased and vote for who they want, and they could make the right choice because they were well educated.

Not only was women’s freedom of movement limited, their food supply was along with other afghans. This led to desperate measures and mother sometimes had no other choice but to sell their daughter to be wedded. But as long as they are fed, right?

The Taliban, has affected many lives over the course of their reign. Thousands of women have lost their income, family, and frankly their entire lives. Though the Taliban states these restrictions are temporarily put in place, many women, children and just afghans in general believe this to be untrue and fear for the future.

When women are allowed to maintain their job to provide for their family, they are put at a disadvantage already just because they are not educated but now they are not able to keep the jobs they once had. The Taliban has proven they are not capable of maintaining Afghanistans government and have no concern for the future of their people. Women being given the choice to be wed or not was a step in the right direction. Women are still given the choice to be married or not which is one of the few freedoms they have been able to keep. Young women having a choice is a fundamental right of choice.
