Mrs M - Food Writer TERIYAKI GARDEN SALAD AT TAMI'S GARDEN CAFE
My recent lunch at Tami's, a local cafe, was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I choose the Teriyaki Garden Salad, a simple mix of baby spinach leaves, cherry tomatoes and pieces of tender teriyaki chicken, tossed with a generous dressing of olive, caper and capsicum bruschetta. Like all the best salads, this dish did not over-complicate, resting its reputation on a mix of a few good quality, fresh ingredients. The peaceful garden setting, at the back of the cafe, with its grapevine clad pergola and delightful birdsong, created a welcoming and restful dining experience. This is the place to eat if you are wanting good food and a peaceful atmosphere in which to recharge your batteries.

Eden Taylor-Food Critic
An Underdog Dish
Arriving at Dude's Diner I did not have very high expectations, but as a food critic, I have to keep my mind and mouth open. The menu was certainly very quaint, a plaid pattern with the usual restaurant menu layout. I chose the "Yellow and White Lunch" Macaroni pasta with cloves of garlic topped with cheese, my drink was plain dairy milk, with two mentos' for dessert. When it was served to me, the first thing that hit was the overly potent smell of garlic, which did not give a very appetizing start. I slowly gripped my fork between my fingers, pierced a select few pieces of macaroni and brought the fork to my mouth.

One word, bliss. The mix of garlic, cheese, and pasta was a perfect balance and tasted a bit like cheesy garlic bread. The cheese had small pieces of garlic on them and I must admit I sucked some off. The milk was lovely and refreshing and the mint from the mentos simply completed the meal. This was a great meal for adults and children alike.

Overall I give this simple yet heavenly dish a 5-star rating. Well done Dude's Diner!

Noah Thompson - Food Epicure
TURNING THE WORD "LUNCH" ON ITS HEAD

I had a bit of a craving for something really good. So I popped down to the local restaurant, The Grillhouse. I had been there previously and was quite impressed with what I had; smokey steaks, BBQ Kebabs, but I had my hopes up, and was looking for something really good. I ordered BBQ chicken sliders, and hoped for the best. My meal arrived. It looked okay. There was a lot of filling; I could tell by the amount hanging out the sides. I picked up one of these rolls and bit in. Flavours exploded in my mouth. Smokey BBQ Chicken, soft bread, creamy coleslaw, rich melted cheese. I couldn’t help myself. Being a food epicure I can be picky, but you have never tasted anything like this. The combination of flavours was mind-blowing. Definitely a place you want to go. 10/10 from me, Congratulations to The Grillhouse.

P.S. It is rumoured that some of The Grillhouse's and other local diners recipes may be hinted on this website.

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1w5Ji9YIPb5rOnaITox9aLxVCg7vyMz8SCkPv727HHyU/edit#slide=id.p

They were so warm and tasty. It contained ham, tomato, whole grain mustard, and melted tasty cheese. There was a little wooden playground outside for the kids with swan plants around it and a lot of chrysalises hanging from under the playground. They had refreshing cold water there with perfect ice cubes in it.

My experience at ‘Lovely Lunch’ was superb. I chose the most popular dish- two course toasties. The first toastie was ham, cheese and pineapple. The second toastie was choc banana. The first toastie was very effective. My sisters who dined with me commented that “it smelled like McDonalds.” The sweet taste of pineapple combined perfectly with the ham. The cheese added a stretchy texture. The second toastie was well coated in chocolate syrup, and the bananas were a touch smooshed, but overall it was a delicious experience. I highly recommend ‘Lovely Lunch.’ I give the food a 4/5 and the experience a 5/5. The picture below is of the choc banana toastie.

I scanned the menu - there were so many delicious things to choose from but I decided on herb infused couscous with shredded chicken breast and a side of broccoli drizzled with a garlic gravy. The chicken was so moist, and the gravy was the perfect balance of rich and salty. The couscous had a very delicate taste of herb. For desert I ordered The chocolate surprise which consisted of a delectable jelly tip ice cream drizzled with a sweet chocolate sauce and topped off with a DELICIOUS brigadeiro - an amazing Brazilian chocolate dessert.
