The Ted Talk entitled “Connected, but alone” by Sherry Turkle, showed many issues regarding the new digital age or the influence of technology on us. While listening to her, I learned many things about the impacts of technology in an individual life. There are some key points that I usually agree and disagree with what Turkle told about the impacts of technology such as Little devices are so psychologically powerful that they not only change what we do, they change who we are, We’re lonely but we’re afraid of intimacy, and Being together while not being together. It also catches my attention and made me think more.

Have you ever noticed when you are with your friends, family? You were together though everyone in the group is busy swiping, reading or texting on their phones and completely ignoring each other. Then what is the point of seeing each other?

We all know that our generations can't live without devices such as cellphones. Although we should think, what if you were in the situation that all of your company is busy with their phones while you keep on talking? What would you feel? Of course, you probably shout and tell them “put down all the phones and talk to me!”.We understand cellphones are always with us where ever we go, though sometimes we should learn also to put it down when we are in front of our friends or family to have real conversations and respect one another because you are there to enjoys being with each other.
