For those who have humans in them, I wonder what they are thinking about at the moment. For example, the picture where it looks like 2 females are picking up remains of a house on a mountain. It appears that the elderly lady is smiling. I wonder why that is so- is it for the cameras, or is it something else?

What interests me about these photos, (I really just have questions but...)is how are like they going to recover from these Tsunamis and floods, because really they can't do nothing but just wait since their stuck. I mean not even authorities can do anything really other than just evacuating people. So do they just wait every time a disaster happens. Do authorities exactly help recover valuables? Since they really can't and I mean they just lost everything practically because in one photo they show that they whole house is destroyed and their hopeless. The theme is just that usually in all natural disasters a lot of people can't do anything and they are hopeless pretty much. My questions are is that "How long do people have to wait to recover?" "Do people leave their community after natural disasters? and lastly "How can society help with this, because like they're already taking photos which is good but can they do anything else? I would definitely want to inquire on different countries that are devleoping because I want to see and compare the impacts of a developing country and a country like the United states if America.

What interest you about these photos?
Something that interests me about all these images is that they all are about changes in the physical land. For example, one of the images are about a land slide can make a hill or a mountain stay that shape forever. Same with the iceberg and the floods, as the iceberg would take much time to rebuild and the flood will create many damages to trees and plants and destroy land.
Is there a theme?
The theme of these photos is that these photos are all about natural disasters and changes in the physical land. Droughts and tornados can cause land being ripped off and trees and plants dying and land cracking.
What questions do you have?
I wonder what specific disaster are these images generated from? For example, is the flood images from the Hurricane Katrina or the Indian Ocean Tsunami?
What topic and question would inquire about?
I would want to inquire about Tsunamis. I would want to know more about how they affect a country so much, and how they could be stopped. I would also know how different countries deal with Tsunamis, and how other countries can change to help their citizens more when it comes to Tsunamis.

1. What interests me is that a great number of these pictures actually occurs in poor or developing countries. I know that as climate change progresses, the areas that are impacted are usually areas that are rural, or in a 3rd-world country. Developed countries have the luxury to help those impacted in the country, but poorer countries don't have the ability to do that. This causes the severe weather events to be even more severe. In 3rd-world countries, they might not have enough money to build good enough infrastructure. This leads to a feedback loop where bad buildings fall, and the country will have to spend more money, which means budget cuts, which means even worse infrastructure.
2. One theme is that these images all lead to each other. Melting glaciers raise the sea level, therefore casing significant flooding and a higher risk for tsunamis. Higher risk of tsunamis and flooding will cause a change in the way water is distributed, and so it will change the way plants and vegetation grow significantly. Flooding can also lead to landslides in mountainous areas.
3. I question the role the way disasters are being dealt with. I think that we need a lot better tools for detection, because many times disasters are unprepared. I think of why disasters are able to kill hundreds or thousands of people, yet we have all the equipment and ability to prevent all of this. I think about how governments might downgrade warnings about disasters, and this might cause less supplies and equipment to be distributed.
4. I might inquire about disasters on the Pacific, Eurasian and Filipino plates. These plates are hot spots for earthquakes, landslides, and tsunamis. In rural areas there, infrastructure can be destroyed beyond repair, and this causes a lot of terrible things for the environment and for the human communities. In those areas, typhoons are very common from the tropical waters there, and a lot of damage results every year there, so in that area a lot of water related disasters happen, and the countries there have a lot of port cities. This will inevitably cause a lot of destruction in that area. Specifically, I might chose disasters, like earthquakes, in Indonesia, since it is a highly earthquake-susceptible country.

The ones that seem really interesting is the volcano and the ice melting one right beside the volcanoes (They are also very eye-catching) The theme of the photos are Natural disasters. Some questions I have are there any way to prevent these? Can authorities tell when/or about what day the disaster will occur (so people can take precognitions)? I would like to learn more about typhoons or tornadoes .

1. Something that interests me about these photos is that some images show the current activity of the natural disasters look less severe and more amusing. Although, the other part of the images show the after portion of the disaster. This makes it look more severe and it interests me how events can seem more overwhelming after it has caused the damage and not when it is beginning to occur.

2. I noticed that all the images are natural disasters and affects both people and the environment.

3. My question is that many people have died but that still leaves a large amount of living people who are able to help, so why are there only very little people in each place helping out.

4. I want to focus on Tsunamis in 2004 in my old country (I never lived there but my parents did). I want to know more about where I originated from and how it might have affected my parents knowing their family members were there. (They moved to Canada at the time).

What interests me in all of these photos is wondering which of these natural disasters were due to human activity. Also, how many of these disasters occurred in low-income nations.

A common theme in the images is that the victims of the natural disaster appear to have been completely affected by it as if no measures have been taken to at least negate the effects of the disaster. Floods have submerged roads and cars and some buildings. I can also see that earthquakes have caused absolute damage which would have completely devastated the victims.

I wonder in all the instances of a natural disaster impacting a nation, how many nations send humanitarian aid and how much in terms of money?

I wish to see the effects of holes in the Earth's magnetic field in the South Atlantic Ocean.

I want to know why this happened and how. Is it because begging foreign countries for money actually helped with their humanitarian aids. Or, is it because they had the technology to actually predict the earthquake beforehand?
