Technology is playing an increasingly important role in the work and personal lives of citizens. Computers, communications, digital information, software—the constituents of the information age are everywhere. Especially in this time where we can use it in terms of the Flexible Learning. It will help the students a lot when it comes to the studying and creating and be collaborative in other aspects in technology. Technology can be used in the learning process in a variety of ways. Some are supplementary, serving the original design of the classroom and usually automate some previously by-human task or process–grading multiple choice assessments, searching for a source of information, or sharing messages and other data across large groups. The learning industry fell to the charms of technology an age ago – and the affair has only bloomed since! Technology benefits learning by taking it out of physical classrooms and putting its controls in the hands of the learner.

Technology plays an important role in our life most especially in our generation today. Since our country is currently under quarantine and we have an online class, technology becomes part of our needs. But, technologies is not easy as we know and there is a lot of rules that we need to follow, applications that we should know, and a lot of consequences that we were going to face by using technologies. This subject (EDUC 85A) helps us to understand what are the proper functions of technology, the tools that will helps us in academics or in finishing our tasks and how to take care of ourselves in conserving a lot of time in using technologies.

Angelica A. Arroyo
BSE102 SCIENCE
In this era entitled as 21st century, technology has been so reliable for most of us to the point that it became our necessity. Its different varieties such as the internet, the social media, made us all connected, informed and entertained. As an inpiring educator, I can tell that technology can help the future teachers to acquire a more efficient and effective means of learnings for the students. It can be use as a tool to gather different data or information without consuming much longer time. The subject "A technology for teaching and learning I" aided me in knowing different etiquettes on how to use the technology properly. It taught me how to be more responsible in terms of using the internet by scrutinizing the data that the internet gives to know whether it is a fact or not. Nevertheless, as I'm ending this narrative i'll share the line that I will never forget which says that no other thing can replace a teacher. Not even the technology :)

Technology is all around us. In terms of the learning process, technology is beneficial and commonly used. It is a significant help because it makes our lives easier and more convenient, especially in terms of online learning. Because we are now living in the "new normal," technology has become increasingly important, and we must learn on how to collaborate and communicate with others. It also develops our critical thinking and our creativity.
In the Subject Educ 85, it teaches us to be a responsible digital citizen which is very important because internet is very dangerous and it teaches us on how to properly behave in using the internet.

Role of Technology for Teaching and Learning

As time goes by, we could not deny the fact that technology is continously developing over time. It was integrated in different fields or areas such as in education. In the field of education, technology, particularly the ICT tools, were used to expand the opportunities in both teaching and learning. As a student who aspires to be a teacher, I am able to say that technology helped a lot in doing tasks and engaging students to a more conducive and interactive learning environment. Nowadays, flexible learning was implemented due to the pandemic. Distance learning started to open to make learning and teaching possible to happen despite the limitations. Different types of technological and ICT tools were used as a platform of education. I am thankful for these tools because it gave us a way to learn, explore and discover things that we did not experienced before. Technology was indeed a powerful instrument especially in this subject because it allows us to understand the purpose of ICT tools in developing instructional materials as part of our journey as future teachers. I have learned a lot and used different digital platforms that I have not known before. Truly, technology offers a wide range of possibilities that made education even more engaging and enjoyable.

First, technology is open for everyone. It may sound pretty nice until we heard 'everyone'. Hackers and degenerates use technology to manipulate and modify codes to harm and fool people. That is the reason why we need to become digitally literate. Second, isolation in a digital world could distance the students from any sort of social interaction which causes social pressure. We can easily have company online, but are exhausted by the pressure of performance. We enjoy continual connections but rarely have each other's attention. Third, it deteriorates the competency of students' basic skills (3R's). For what reason do you need to manually solve math problems if you can use a calculator? What is the point of reading and deeply understanding books if you can search in the internet the same content and quickly browse through it? What is the point of handwriting if you can type words? Speaking of words, the level of competency of students in grammar and spelling became lower. Lastly, technology dehumanize both teacher and student in some way. It affects their lifestyle, health, and well-being. It may contribute to eye problems, psychological issues (like focusing on a specific task), and serious health conditions, such as depression.
Even though technology has some negative effect on education, it is undeniable that technology has made education system simple, accessible and flexible. Students can use internet for their studies. Technology improves their academic achievements and enhances their motivation to accomplish specific tasks. They can learn anytime and anywhere. Teachers can easily make well-designed lessons and they can reach out their students through distance learning. So these are some ways in which technology has greatly benefited the education system.
