Similarities: Some similarities from the Trans-Saharan trade route to the Silk Road is their network was extensive. Not only that but they connected with different regions in the world. Trans-Saharan connected with Africa, North Africa, and Europe. Silk Road connected with China, India, and central Asia. Another similarities between these two trade routes was diseases. The disease that was spread alone the Trans-Saharan trade route was malaria( It's a parasite that is spread to humans through the bites of infected mosquitos). The disease that was spread through the Silk Road trade route was bubonic plague ( It's a bacterial infection that is transmitted by fleas). Both of these trade routes spread religion. Trans-Saharan spread the religion of Islam and Silk Road spread the religion of Buddhism.

Difference's: Some differences between Trans-Saharan and Silk Road is their means of transportation. Trans-Saharan would use camels as well as caravans. Silk Road's transportation was usually by foot or by horses if they were rich. Another means of transportation Silk Road used was the ocean. They used the ocean to transport goods.
