Making Athens have a stronger military power.<br><br>Explain: It seems that this event helps the greek city-states unite more but actually it is the cause of Athens' downfall. This event made Athens stronger and eventually led to the Peloponnesian War which made Athens very weak.          <description><![CDATA[<div><br>&nbsp;Describe: This image shows Pericles talking to Athenians, he stands in the high place which indicates that Pericles have a higher status and he’s leading the Athenians. As a leader of Athens, Pericles balanced the rich and poor between Athenians, and he modifies Athens by building architecture and statues.&nbsp;<br><br>Explanation: Pericles increased the power of Athens and rebuild Athens from scratch which made it the most powerful city in the whole world. Pericles also promoted the arts, literature, and philosophy. He gave great speeches to inspire the citizens. It boosted the ego of the Athenian Citizens and convinced them that they are a “master race”, and encouraged them to become a part of their government and work together. His leadership led Athens into its golden age, to the highest success.          <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>&nbsp;Description:<br>As the Athens took over the delian league, they manipulated the huge treasury of the delian league; this is an abuse of the power of athens, which causes them to gain mistrust from other city-states, starting the civil wars. As we see from the picture, the treasury of the league (also their allies) was snatched away by Athens, which really took place in the event.<br>Explanation:&nbsp;<br>As this event took place (in 454 BC), they gained mistrust from other city-states, which causes the civil war that weakened the greek empire. Some city-states followed Sparta and declared war on Athens. This war ended the classical age of Athens and ended the democracy of Greece Times, strongly changing the state of Greece. Horses, bows, and arrows which are more advanced are also used in his battles.<br>After the end of the Peloponnesian war and while the city-states were not united Philip snook in and conquered Greece in 338BC.<br><br>Explanation: Philip II was able to use Greece's geographical advantage overseas and Hellenism to significantly increase the influence he has in the Middle-East and near the Mediterranean Sea. This event is highly important, as Philip II ended the Greek government and independence.
