AutoCAD is a computer-aided design software used for 2D drawing and 3D modeling. It is currently developed and marketed by the company Autodesk. The name AutoCAD emerges as the creation of the company Autodesk, where Auto refers to the company and CAD to computer-aided design (for its acronym in English Computer Assisted Design), having its first appearance in 1982.1 AutoCAD is a software recognized internationally for its extensive editing capabilities, which make possible the digital drawing of building plans or the recreation of 3D images; It is one of the most used programs by architects, engineers, industrial designers and others.

In addition to accessing commands from the command prompt and menu interfaces, AutoCAD provides application programming interfaces (APIs) that can be used to determine drawings and databases.

The programming interfaces that AutoCAD supports are ActiveX Automation, VBA (Visual Basic® for Applications), AutoLISP, Visual LISP, ObjectARX, and .NET. The type of interface used will depend on the needs of the application and the programming experience of each user.

Version 1.0 (Release 1), November 1982
This first commercial version was presented at the COMDEX Trade Show in Las Vegas in November 1982, but the first ones to acquire AutoCAD had to wait until the following month to install the new program. While the AutoCAD 1.0 utilities were very elementary, they allowed much more than graphically representing point coordinates. For example, I already offered layers, text and even a menu of commands, all with many limitations. For example, the layers were not named by the user and the possible amount was unlimited. The side menu, only up to 5 years later, only allowed access to 40 commands.
Version 1.2 (Release 2), April 1983
This first reissue did not modify the above, but incorporated the dimensions as an optional module not included in the basic price. The possibility of automatically presenting the distance between two points incorporated to AutoCAD the seed of what would be the first intelligent object: the associative dimensions, incorporated in 1987. The use of computers expands and the data transactions multiply. Cooperation between users who share information is already common. The first computer viruses and the first fears appear.
Version 1.3 (Release 3), 5 months later
This time the modifications began improving what was already commercialized. For example, it was no longer necessary to delete an entity and redraw it to change it from layer, because the CHANGE command appears, offering the possibility of "moving from one layer to another". Another remarkable advance is the Elastic Band (Rubber-band) that was the first step in the development of interactive interaction in real time; that is, seeing what one is doing and not just what one has already done. Other developments made it possible to correct
