John Urschel’s published mathematical work focus on spectral graph theory, which uses uses algebraic techniques to study networks. Urschel, who is Black also wants to empower Black children to follow similar paths in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. I picked this mathematiction because he's Hispanic and he also seemed interesting. I connect with with him because we're both Mexican. One major contribution he did to mathematics was discovering this Math equation called "Adem's Relations". He came across this formula by using steenrod squares. Which are used in algebraic tropology. He was a member of The American Mathematical Society and a writer for the “Mathematical Review”.
