         <description><![CDATA[<div>In my district, Berkeley Unified, we are implementing CS as part of the 6th grade STEM Wheel (across all three schools), the yearlong 7/8th grade STEM Makerspace class, and an Advanced STEM class for 8th graders.<br><br>CS Inequities we hope to address: to get more Brown/Black guys/gals/non-binary pals into all our STEM classes in hopes they will consider CS pathways as a viable choice when they enter Berkeley High school.</div>]]></description>

Our school has a single section of AP CSP that we are hopefully expanding to 2-3 next year.<br><br>I hope to address how to engage all students (especially female students and URMs) in CS starting in 9th grade through either a clear vertical pathway or integration across disciplines.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

Two of my sites are tech pathways and our goal is to expose our students to more tech literacy as well as the vast world of tech and all of its endless possibilities. <br><br>One of my sites actually has a CS course, but due to the pandemic, it has been put on hold. <br><br>The other site needs a bit more support. <br><br>I hope this project will help jumpstart a CS program at the site that has no prior experience. Both of my sites serve predominantly marginalized communities and with this project we can fight the inequities and I can support the CS team that already exists with expansion. </div>]]></description>
