How is social media used to share knowledge on health conditions?

Use health forums, and comment sections within X, instagram and TikTok to explore what health information is being shared, the accuracy of it and whether people are self-diagnosing as a result. Predict that social media platforms will differ in sharing education aspects vs people’s personal experiences. Hope to explore whether people with diagnosed conditions are looking for support groups to share their experiences. Online platforms may allow for users to share sensitive information in an anonymous way without a feeling of being judged. This would allow for large quantities of data to be gathered with first-person perspective. Other data gathering techniques such as interviewing or self-report questionnaires may not allow for the same honesty and show the trends of what information is being shared.
