The title of my work is Lost in Words. I created this in 2020. My artwork looks like an abandoned planet in space but it is forgotten in only words. The colour and and value are the most obvious in my work. This piece of art includes newspaper, acrylic paint, and sharpie. To start I first started to paint the background black beside the inside which I painted to a galaxy after. Then after I finished painting I painted the middle white. To wait for it to dry I glue newspaper on to make sure the planet now is only remembered in words. After that I sprinkled white paint to add texture and to make it look more like a galaxy. My goal for this piece of art is to tell a story and have a deep understanding of this piece of art instead of it just being a piece of art.

I used coloured cardboard and hot glue to create my paper sculpture. It looks good to me. I chose to sort of stick to the circle vibe but I went with an abstract overflowing cup. So I almost used all circle prisms except for 1 object. As for the shape I chose it because I wanted to look like a rabbit too so thats why I positioned the circles in that shape. Everything is attache by 1 middle piece. Its what holds everything together. But in reality, this piece is unified by its almost uncanny balance. Like the rock stacking on beaches. Which was a huge influence in this. During creating this I forgot how to cut cardboard properly leading to my piece looking rough. However, it’s still good for 2 classes time in my opinion. Otherwise, this sculpture looks good to me. I think its a great representation of stacking rocks and overflow. Recently I find overflowing stuff pretty cool, its just the vibe of it is so nice. Like just water in a cup etc. It looks so satisfying. I think the sculpture I made perfectly encompasses that feeling I have right now. Overall it looks great! I enjoyed making it.

This art piece was created in 2020. The art piece I created was for the observational drawing assignment. I wanted to create contrast within my art piece so I chose an everyday object that had a dark tone. For my art piece I used colored pens and a pencil. I wanted more colour in my project so I decided to create a background that would make the main drawing standout.

This piece is a drawing of my indoor cactus. I chose to draw my cactus for my observational drawing assignment because it is a really detailed plant that is really cool to look at. I drew a shadow behind it and used a tea stain for the dirt as well also for texture. I made the color of the cactus and pot really bright to it would really stand out. I am proud of my art piece because I put a lot of detail into making my drawing as identical as possible to to my actual cactus.

I chose to draw this object because I believed the product could look very nice and the task wasn't too difficult. I started off with pencil and then when I liked the designs I used fineliner to make it darker. When I finished finelining it there was a part at the bottom that looked very light compared to the rest of the piece. I decided to make it darker. At first I wasn't sure that I liked it but now I think it looks a lot more even. I find doing Zentagles very relaxing and satisfying. It is one of the only pieces that I have created that I am very proud of.

I made a crisp orange and red background with a Kilimanjaro background to compliment it. You can see an elephant with a small elephant underneath for protection. I used water-colour to create my artwork with tape around to make a cool outline. I used flooding to create a secure place to put the paint so I wouldn't flood out.

I was inspired by an elephant painting in Africa from my house.

Coloured pencil on paper
I was inspired to draw this because I saw this photo on instagram and really liked it, and I wanted to try to recreate it realistically with coloured pencil. I had some difficulty with adjusting colour, but I am really proud of it. I started off by first sketching out the outline in pencil, and then started layering colour with shadows and highlights. I chose this one because it was the first coloured pencil sketch I have ever done of a person, and it is also my favourite. The reason I chose to use coloured pencils to draw was that I wanted to try out new mediums and which ones I liked the best. I really like using coloured pencils, although it was a little bit hard to get it right and for it to look realistic.

My artwork is a birds-eye view display of how quarantine might look like from house to house. It is especially about the pandemic of COVID-19, and how its restrictions have limited our society. I created my art using some sketch pencils, a ruler, pencil crayons, and a fine liner. Each house is coloured in with different shades, specifically the colours blue, aqua, brown, and orange to show the different households. There is a “QUARANTINE” written in the middle with a shade of red to show how the different households are undergoing the same experience. In the centre of the people, the colour red, a danger zone, and the green and yellow is a safer zone. The lines between each person further enhance this danger zone. I think I did a good job with this piece, and I am satisfied with my result.

I created this in April 2020, and the reason I named it this title is because I knew that I was going to use this room everyday during quarantine for school. This is my new familiar room that I relax, study and game in. This is done only by pencil and I just decided to sit on my chair and stationarily draw everything on my study table. My goal for this piece is to show that we can find a new place for joy and familiarize with it when we can't go to school.

I chose to redraw this piece rather than one of my better because I wanted to see my improvement from 5 years ago to now. The drawing is on a 18 inch by 24 inch sheet of paper, I had used 2b, 4b and 6b pencils to get the perfect shade colours. The statue itself doesn't have a deep meaning to me, but the art does. The drawing from 2015 had taken me around a month and a half in my art class in Richmond. I didn't like the teacher that much because she had always called on me and commented on how my art was behind the class and compared me to the older and younger kids in my class, but as I had gotten older she had began praising me and telling me how much my art has improved and I wanted to remake the old piece to see the difference between 5 years ago and now.

I started by sketching it out the best I could, and then I used watercolour to fill it in, with pencil crayon for the smaller details. This was my first time trying to do an observational drawing. I found it very hard to get the bear to look right because of the angle I had drawn it at. I also found it quite challenging to get the shadow to look right. Overall, I really enjoyed this assignment even though it was challenging.

My Art was created in 2020, I called it the Granny. I made this because I thought it would be very neat and kind of unique in a way because even though it’s an ordinary book cover, the story behind the book cover is very interesting. I was trying to make a piece that looked cool from the cover to the story. And for the most part it did look cool from cover to story.what really inspired me to do this drawing was the book and I remember when the author came to our school and talked about the book to the whole grade, and when I read that book I thought it was a great book. When I started drawing it I had some mistakes so I had to restart some of the drawing from starch again was annoying but I got through. When I finally got the hang of it I was happy. I used my pencil the whole way then after coloured the outline and the inside of my piece.
