They went to the county fair, and had an overall great time. They ate hot dogs, went on rides, and even gambled a little. They were gambling when sarah got sick, and after winning a lot of money, Johnny got Sarah in the car and left because he was worried about sarah. He got her home safely, asked if she would be OK, and when she said yes, he called a cab and left. When he awoke, he surprised every doctor, relative, and everyone who ever knew that he was in the coma. 
When he awoke, he first told the nurse in the room that her son's surgery would be OK, then later told a doctor that his mother, who was long presumed dead, was alive. The doctor let the newspaper interview him, but he got them off the thought that he was a psychic, and more that he was doing it to pay off hospital bills. Sarah had gotten married, and had a child, his students had all graduated, his mother had gone insane due to religion, and his father was just about the same. He had surgery to be able to walk and move sooner than would be possible had he gone without the surgery.
He got a phone call from the police saying that they want him to help with a case, and he said no. Later, he called back and accepted the offer. He was to help the police solve a series of murders, by using his psychic powers to pinpoint him. He went to the scene of the crime, and was able to pinpoint exactly who the murderer was. He applied for a teaching role, but was turned down, due to being to controversial, because of the newspaper mentioned before. He got a job at the local diner, and then got a job tutoring a kid named Chuck.
