         <description><![CDATA[<div>Considering the history of Black people in the United States, I found the following points of the Declaration hypocritical:<br>* The Entire 2nd Sentence. The second sentence of the Declaration depicts the natural born rights of all of humankind. The problem with the inclusion of this statement in the Declaration is that while our country's founding fathers gathered around to discuss the tyranny of British rule over the colonies they failed to do some well needed self-reflection and see that the fact many of them OWNED other human beings is wrong. <br>evidence: "The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States."<br>*  The Claim of Lack of Prosperity under British Rule. There are many excerpts from the Declaration that seem completely unfounded when taking a look at slavery and the quality of life slaves and the generations of post- slavery Black people had to endure versus  the lives of owners, government officials, and all white people. The founders main point against the King of Britain is that he has created a system in which the people of the US colonies are treated at lesser value than the people of Britain, which is hilarious when you compare the 'struggles' enlisted in the Declaration to the actual hardships and extreme adversity placed on Black people since colonization of the African continent till today.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In my opinion I feel as if there was so much talked about in this article that is in a way of being spoken Hypocritical. What declaration of Independence speaks about one thing but the actions being done still to this day are totally different. There are a couple things I'm going to share from the article such as "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." This being said is something not only mentioned in the Declaration of Independence but heard all the time too. <br>"the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation." <br>This really spoke to me knowing things are made a certain way but people made it to be totally different.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The United States freed themselves from the rule of England, but left African Americans under the rule of Caucasian Americans.<br><br> "That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do".<br><br>African Americans also were discriminated around the 1920s they were not considered citizens, and they had restrictions against them because of their financial status, and they were unable to vote for a change of laws within the government.<br><br>"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.".</div>]]></description>

White Supremacists thought they were better than Africans. <br>"...and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States," when people from Africa arrived in America they were not free at all. </div>]]></description>

Throughout the document, there are things that preach about the equality and freedom of the US citizens but the African-Americans in this country do not get treated equally nor do they have much freedom, "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights". <br>It also preaches about how men have the pursuit to happiness, but how can one be happy if they are the biggest minority in the country? <br>"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".</div>]]></description>
