You even imported other people to act as slaves, making most of our population African slaves. Slaves struggled with long workdays, dying from injuries, infections, malnutrition, and starvation. Additionally, the affranchis, landowning mulattoes, were frustrated with the racist society. With ideas of the French Revolution, we used violence and killed slave owners, especially in a revolt after a rumor that the French king declared end to slavery. Although you were a valuable ally due to your resources, we understand your emancipation. Since then, we have sold the French territories to the United States, called the Louisiana Purchase. This territory has become slave states, as they had to produce cash crops in place of the crops that you, the Haitians, once produced.
