I try and begin every lesson with a pretest, having students fill in the blanks for steps we take to problem solve, a vocabulary term that is key in our instruction, ect. I poll that way i can get 100% participation (with reminders), assess which student already has some strong knowledge. We revisit the same slide at the end of class and discuss if our percentage grew as a class. I assesses individual answers at this time as well, taking a screen snip at times to keep a record for intervention.

To SHOW students perimeter of the base, fat markers in a specific color will demonstrate the perimeter. (or glued on pipe cleaner, if I can find them).
I am using Readworks.org to assign passages and questions to my students. I am using the reading level from MAP testing. The questions I use are based on the standard pulled from RIT levels. I have them look at their correct/incorrect answers and next week they will take another assessment on the same skill and try to do better. If they get 80 or above, I move to another standard.
