         <title>About biophysics</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Biophysics is an approach to biology that is based on a special blend of physical and chemical concepts. Biophysics has gained its identity during centuries of interplay between physics, chemistry and medicine. It is enough to think of Hermann von Helmholtz who, trained in medicine, became one of the leading personalities of physics in the second half of the nineteenth century, while also being engaged in biomedical research on the physiology of the visual and auditory systems. <br>Given the tremendous diversity of approaches used nowadays, there is no recipe of what a didactic biophysics laboratory should contain. Whichever the choice, the most important aspect is to emphasize the biological relevance of each particular technique. </div>]]></description>
