I chose to take Merriweather Lewis on the trip. Lewis has lots of experience in the military. He was in the military with George Washington during the Whiskey Rebellion. Thomas Jefferson wanted Lewis to be his secretary and aid. Then Congress wanted a military expedition. Thomas Jefferson wanted Lewis to lead the expedition.

Lewis seems very qualified for the expedition. Lewis is basically a right-hand man to the president. Lewis also fought in the military during the Whiskey-Rebellion. Lewis also grew up with the rebellion. He was 8 months old when Revere took his ride. So Lewis is clearly the best option for a Captain on the trip.

He knows how to fish and on the trip he even brought deer spleen to help catch the fish. He would make a good addition because he could help feed all of the group members.

He made contact with Indian women and got syphilis. He joined seven men in petitioning congress for their land grants to be situated in Indiana and Missouri. He has experience with some of the land so he would be a great addition to our team.

Silas Goodrich is also good because that’s my name so he’s the best choice.
