         <description><![CDATA[<div> In 546 B.C a noble named  Peisistratus overthrew the Oligarchy. He became a ruler of Athens. Athenian tyrants were usually good leaders. Peisistratus brought peace and perity to the city. he began new policies meant to unify the city. Many improvement were made in Athens. After Peisistratus died, his son took over as tyrant. Aristocrats were not happy because their power was gone. some of these aristocrats told a rival city-state to attack Athens. This invasion made Tyrants loose power, and for a short time, aristocrats returned to power in Athens.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Around 500 B.C a new leader Cleisthenes gained power in Athens. Cleisthenes didn't want aristocrats to run the government. He thought they already had too much influence. By the support of the people, Cleisthenes was able to overthrow the aristocracy once and for all. He established a completely new form of government. Under Cleisthenes leadership Athens created the world's first democracy. for this reason they called him father of democracy  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the mid 330's B.C Athens  was conquered by the Macedonians from north of Greece. after the conquest Athens fell under strong Influence. After, Athens kept its democracy government. But with very limited powers. The Macedonian king ruled his country like a dictator. No one could make decisions without his approval. The Athenians didn't care to make drastic changes without the King's consent but its his powerful army they feared. The Athenians lost there limited Democracy. In 320 B.C a new king took over Greece and ended democracy forever.  </div>]]></description>
