This course has already given me the opportunity to connect with other educators through various schools and hear their triumphs and frustrations; it will be a cohort of teachers who want to help their students no matter where the classroom ends up being, and being in the presence of so many changemakers is powerful. I also envision The Distance Learning Playbook to be a vital tool in the process. 

My ultimate goal for this course is to find at least three tools or ideas that engage students and establish personalized learning that can be applied in a distance or in-person setting. I then plan to use the remainder of the summer holiday finding ways to enhance the work I’ve already done with my previous students to evolve for my incoming students. My intentions for this course are to be mindful of the fact that virtual learning may become part of the "new normal" for education, and to better prepare myself to make that shift if necessary. My hope for this class is to have increased exposure to various platforms and methods to support my students in distant learning and to help bring more technology options into the classroom. This will help prepare students for working with these platforms for when they enter into the adult world that is becoming increasingly digital.

2.    What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course?

My goal is to collaborate with fellow educators and learn from them on what has helped, and what I should avoid in the future. It would be great to see how the stuff we read about in the text is already being implemented, or discuss how to implement it in the future with others.

Technology is going to be an integral part of education and has, out of necessity, become much more readily available to students and families.
