Her picture, where she posed in a ridiculous vest, with a retainer, pigtails, and a creepy grin, was not meant to become a meme. She was quite surprised, actually, and although she knew people were laughing, she felt they were laughing with and not against her. Her meme shows how a picture can go undisturbed for years, and then suddenly become famous overnight. She had originally taken the picture during 7th grade, while playing dress up with her friends. Now it has many versions, knockoffs, and followers.
