Great progress being made – the exhibition at Bene Culture has proved not only to be a perfect collaborative, networking outcome with regards to the learning outcomes of this module but an exciting catalyst for making new work including the jacquard banners, the posters advertising the event, moving image work and written material. The impetus, confidence and entrepreneurship have a direct lineage with work from previous modules. You are making great use of the resources, workshops, people and facilities available at BCU.

What comes after the exhibition? Certainly a period of consolidation and reflection and, perhaps, an increased understanding of the context of this type of practice? How do we begin to define what kind of practitioner you are? It will, I think, be helpful to think about how people get more exhibitions, how they articulate their work and the kinds of networks available and useful. Begin researching residencies at local and national galleries – organisations who support emerging artists – eg. https://www.bombfactory.org.uk/ https://themuseat269.london/apply https://www.nae.org.uk/reside-naes-residency-programme/ (we will identify further opportunities) How can you position your work for inclusion in First Fridays? How can you test further concepts, techniques and outcomes to create a significant body of work for Major Project? What kinds of things are expected of a practitioner who works in this kind of contemporary art practice? It might be that you need to further research and apply theory in order to explain, explore and contextualise – you are beginning to do this as evidenced by conversations around what various ‘waves’ of feminist thought can add to the debate/ conversation but it will benefit to have a deeper understanding of these things – as you delve more into the ‘scene’ you will encounter theory that resonates (and some which does not) - networking and talking and visiting galleries, exhibitions, talks and events will help you become more confident in applying theory to your work. Books/ texts can be quite subjective and, again, you need to find the one that resonates with you – I think this book is quite accessible and certainly contains some useful perspectives on ‘craft’ that you can apply to your current work - Extra/ordinary : craft and contemporary art

Residency 2024 Competition — The Muse Gallery

I only decided to do the one with Shai, as it caused an ironic effect on the audience as well as the video content already matched the aesthetic from previous videos.

Networking: advice, help and form career decisions—people in my field of work who are specialised. Networking=more established. Showing your presence, there could be someone with the same intentions as me.

Combining type and weave again, with disused with Beck, she liked how my Jacquard turned out and this is something that I could do for my part of the exhibition.
