The caves of the Sultanate of Oman were formed millions of years ago in what are known as the ancient and middle ages of life, as a result of the rainy periods that prevailed in the Arabian Peninsula at that time due to the blowing of the monsoons, which led to a rise in groundwater reserves, which caused chemical weathering activity (internal change in the composition of rocks).
