But the boys do end up making it off the island alive. I think this song is very powerful with it's theme talks about anti-war and about a war world I soldier who was disfigured by a landmin. Having all his limbs blown off, not being able to see speak or hear , he begs god to take his life as he goes through constant pain. I think this is an important song to include because of how the boys are to eachother on the island. While the song does about racial equality and unity, it also is very much about how regardless of where you come from, or what you are capable of, you are still important and still play a big role in the world. I think this is a good song that relates to the book because of teamwork. The boys on the island thought they could split apart and survive, but in reality they needed to unite and work together.
