It's impossible to deny it...

I'm completely aware my classes work better when I feel better. Those classes are not only more engaging but also more effective. My creativity and my ability to cope with problems are also better, which means I can respond better to students' needs. I am more available to listen to their problems and find solutions with them. When I'm feeling worried or down I am less understanding and empathic. That obviously has impact on the way students work in class or react to my attitudes. Cycles begin: bad days lead to bad results that lead to worse feelings, which will impact on everything else. Sometimes breaking the cycle is hard, others, something just happens (so many possible circumstances here...)and a positive cycle starts.

I agree with th statements prezentated in the article , teacher well-being is closely related to teaching quality and it directly influences the well-being of the students, voluntarily and involuntarily, by creating a favorable environment, carrying out diversified, attractive and specific activities for the group of students, but also by the quality of the relationships established at the class level.
Not only the teacher can influence the well-being of the students, but all the school staff becomes responsible, because the students interact directly and indirectly with everything that is the school environment

In the Italian school system, all staff contribute in every way to the well-being of every learner. The better a teacher’s quality of life is as well as their preparation and updating, the more happy the student will be to attend the school environment thus creating a beneficial circle for both sides.

It's demostrated that if we rely in somebody, this person will be trustworthy, but if we say to a student that he is no able to do something, he maybe won't even try.

On the other hand, we cannot teach well if we didn't sleep the nigth before, so if we are happy, we will transmit happiness and if we are worried we will transmit that something is wrong.

I believe that prioritizing well-being in education is not only essential for the health and satisfaction of teachers and students but also has a significant impact on teaching quality and student outcomes. By fostering environments where well-being is valued and supported, schools can create conditions for both teachers and students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

If we do not feel apreciated, we stard the silent quitting.

On the other hand, If we feel that we face the mistakes we make as learning experiences, and part of life,(since you are not super-heros), if we feel at ease to ask questions, share ideas and meet with parents, we will be happier and, therefore, dedication to our job will be devoted.

I believe that nowadays , teachers are facing challenges that twenty years ago , couldn't even thought they existed. Teachers are a significant member of the community .They have to struggle with every day problems and the increasing demands in their profession. Many of us , work in environments that lack empathy , respect and support . All these lead teachers to mental and physical exhaustion . As these stressors pile on , teachers can't contribute to their students well being . Many times my emotional and mental state is affected by external factors as well as problems arrising from other colleagues , parents and superiors . And this has a important impact on my work all day . Therefore i agree that , the academic success of students depends on the well being of teachers .

Yes, I agree that teacher well-being has a positive effect on both teacher and student performance, as the article has stated, and it can create both a virtuous and a vicious cycle. We are often taught to separate our private lives from our professional lives, but that is never entirely possible. No matter how hard we try, sometimes how we feel is reflected in the way we behave in our classrooms. Obviously, we are there to make an impact, and it certainly matters if that impact is positive or not. Being overworked, mentally overloaded, and having to conform to children's, parents', and the school's expectations can be overwhelming on a daily basis. If we are to balance our personal lives with our careers, if we are to give our best at school, be creative, enhance our problem-solving skills, and evolve professionally, then it is high time for someone to focus on our well-being too. The effects of our well-being will surely be reflected in the atmosphere of our classrooms, the knowledge and skills of our students, as well as their overall well-being. A happy teacher equals a happy student; a well-prepared teacher equals a well-prepared student...

I totally agree that a teacher’s well-being impacts their and their students’ performance. Of course it is part of a teacher’s professionalism to leave aside their personal problems during teaching time and be able to motivate their students and create a classroom environment where they feel safe to express their ideas and feelings and therefore achieve better learning results. For example, I have noticed that when I express my enthusiasm about an activity, my students also approach it with interest and enthusiasm and try to do their best.

However, teachers are also human beings and have the same needs as their students for security, understanding and acceptance in their workplace in order to thrive and fully develop their professional skills. Factors such as constant administrative work, frequent writing of detailed lesson plans that nobody reads in the end or authoritative and offensive behavior from superiors contribute to the emotional and mental exhaustion of teachers which unavoidably leads to reduced energy during work time and can also affect the students’ school performance.

Certainly! When teachers feel mentally and emotionally healthy and supported, they tend to perform better in their roles, which in turn positively impacts their students' learning experiences and outcomes. For instance, research published in the Journal of School Psychology demonstrated that teachers with higher well-being received more favorable ratings from students regarding their teaching effectiveness and ability to manage the classroom.

I think it is easy to apply this correlation to the experiences I have had or seen in the schools I have worked in. An environment where a teacher feels respected, valued and an integral part of the team will foster an enthusiasm that will work for the teacher and in turn the children in the class. When feeling undermined or undervalued then this directly impacts on teacher behaviour. Of course there is a level of professionality but teachers are human too and I do think there are many tasks under the umbrella of teacher that require you to go above and beyond compared to other professions and goodwill will only stretch so far before it breaks and has a detrimental effect on the teacher/class/team.

I definitely agree that teacher well-being has a positive impact on teacher and student performance. Teachers' feelings of well-being enable them to be more motivated, work more efficiently, and therefore provide a better education to their students.

As an example, when teachers' personal rights and working conditions are improved in a school, teachers' job satisfaction increases. This helps teachers create a more positive atmosphere in the classroom and build better relationships with students. Additionally, when teachers are less stressed, they can focus more on the lesson planning and teaching process, thus improving lesson quality.

More satisfied and motivated teachers can positively impact student achievement. When teachers are passionate and energetic, they motivate students more and make the learning process more enjoyable. Additionally, as teachers' well-being increases, they can provide more support to students and better respond to students' individual needs.

In conclusion, increased teacher well-being indicates a strong connection between teacher and student performance. Teachers who feel good provide better education and increase students' academic success. Therefore, improving teachers' well-being is an important step to improve the overall effectiveness and quality of the education system.

When teachers are well-supported and feel emotionally and mentally healthy, they are able to perform their jobs more effectively, leading to improved outcomes for their students.

One example of this can be seen in a study conducted by the University of British Columbia, which found that when teachers participated in mindfulness and stress reduction programs, they reported reduced levels of burnout and increased feelings of well-being.

Yes, I agree that teacher well-being has a positive effect on both the teachers' own performance and the students' performance. Teachers who feel valued, respected and cared for have more energy, motivation and ability to dedicate themselves to teaching, which in turn benefits students.

A clear example of this is a study conducted by the University of British Columbia, which found a direct relationship between teachers' well-being and students' academic performance. The study revealed that teachers who feel emotionally well and less stressed are more effective in the classroom, are able to maintain a positive learning environment and are more willing to interact with students in a meaningful way.

Furthermore, schools that invest in the well-being of teachers, offering emotional support, professional development and adequate working conditions, tend to have a more stable and motivated teaching team. This creates continuity and quality in teaching that directly benefits students. For example, a program implemented in schools in Finland, which is known for having one of the most successful education systems in the world, focuses on teacher well-being as a key component. There, teachers have a balanced workload, support for professional development and a collaborative work environment, which contributes to a high level of job satisfaction and exceptional student performance.

Therefore, teacher well-being not only improves the quality of teaching, but also creates a more positive and productive learning environment for students, proving the importance of caring education professionals for academic success.

Yes, teacher well-being has a significant positive effect on both teacher and student performance. This relationship is well-documented through various studies and real-world examples.

When teachers experience high levels of well-being, they are generally more engaged, motivated, and effective in their teaching practices. Well-being encompasses not only physical health but also emotional and psychological health, which includes job satisfaction, stress levels, and overall mental health. Teachers who feel supported and valued are more likely to exhibit: Higher Job Satisfaction, Better Classroom Management and Lower Absenteeism.

Teacher well-being also directly impacts student outcomes. When teachers are well, students benefit in the following ways: Improved Academic Achievement, Positive Classroom Environment, Better Teacher-Student Relationships.

Example

A study conducted by the University of British Columbia examined the impact of a teacher well-being program called the "Social and Emotional Learning" (SEL) program. Teachers who participated in the SEL program reported significantly lower levels of stress and burnout. Their students, in turn, demonstrated improved academic performance, better social skills, and fewer behavioral problems compared to students taught by teachers who did not participate in the program .

Additionally, Finland, renowned for its high-performing education system, places a strong emphasis on teacher well-being. Finnish teachers report high levels of job satisfaction and low levels of stress, which correlate with their students consistently achieving high scores on international assessments like the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment). The Finnish approach includes less emphasis on standardized testing and more on teacher autonomy and professional development, contributing to the overall well-being of teachers .

I agree. In our country teachers are on the bottom of social scale and many time we are judged and disvalued by society and parents. The biggest problem is not the low salaries but the way society treats us. Unfortunately, this has a strong effect on our work. It is very difficult to be a happy and motivated teacher when you don't feel valued for your work.

Unfortunately the teachers have much work to do beside teaching and have less celebrity in society. Furthermore in Turkiye, the educational system, books, curriculum and official workload changes so rapidly all the time. It effects negatively in mood and learning environment. I always feel exhausted even if I don't have much work. My brain is full of uncertain future.

When you relate to the others you can naturally feel what kind of energy is around. Therefore as teachers, we have the delicate role to relate with the young generation . We should always feel mentally, emotionally healthy and ,supported, so as to perform better in our roles, In so doing we turn positive impacts to our students' learning experiences and outcomes. As said by researchers: teachers with higher well-being received more favorable ratings from students regarding their teaching effectiveness and ability to manage the classroom. As a result students perform better in their life.
