WHAT ELSE WOULD I LIKE TO LEARN ABOUT SCULPTURE AS A FINE ART?

After our discussion in Fine Arts about Sculpture, there are still some questions that I wonder about:

1. How long (on an average) can a sculptor make his/her sculpture?
2. How are the sculptures transported to the places (church, museum, etc) that they are in now?
3. Are the famous and known sculptures sold to private buyers or are they publicly owned by the government?
4. If ever, how much (on an average) a sculpture is?

Before the discussion about sculpture, I never really appreciated the piece of art as much. For me, it was something that I only see whenever I go on museum trips and take photos of, but to study it in depth, wasn't a focus for me.
For me, it wasn't something that I dwell on. I didn't evaluate or critic a sculpture whenever I see one, I simply see it as a fine art.

After class discussion about Sculpture, I learned the following:

1. Form + Content
- From Form + Content, I learned how to meticulously critic and describe a specific sculpture.

2. Elements
- The Elements taught me the different parts of the 'anatomy' of a sculpture as well; the principal elements such as its mass or volume, the space and if the solid sculpture depicts a certain movement.

3. Principles
- The principles of sculpture are used to organize the elements of art. With this, it measures the orientation, to its proportion, scale and many more. The principles help the students (like me) to evaluate a piece of sculpture better.

4. Beauty + Value
- After the module, I learned how to appreciate a sculpture more. It made me understand the components of a piece of sculpture and why it is created or made that way.

To conclude, I learned the basic factors on how to evaluate and describe a sculpture well. The lessons taught in class allowed me to be more exposed to different kinds of sculpture and also how to be an effective critic towards a certain sculpture.
