What Impact did geography have on the development of the American colonies?

B is the correct answer. The colonies geography led to them having very different economies, with the South relying on cash crops and the North relying on ship building and industry made goods. The geography caused these economic differences as the different land layouts and climates made cash crop farming impossible in some areas while it thrived in others. Economic differences led to different life styles as while they are both rich, the Southern plantation owner and the Northern factory owner had very different ways of making their money and they had even more different political views. These differences led to long debates over key issues such as federalism and forming of national banks.

Which of the speakers best represents the point of view of the Puritans?

B and C

The puritans believed that a simple life devoted to god was the only correct life, enforcing answer C to be correct. The puritans believed that it was important to be an ideal colony to ¨reform¨ the other colonies, which proves answer B to correct. Answer A is incorrect as the puritans were very intolerant to outsiders which led to series of violence against natives and rebels alike. Answer D is also incorrect because the puritans lived under gods rule, so they lived under a theocracy. Answer D is also incorrect as they wanted every one to live like they did. With this information, we can conclude B and C are the best representations of puritan beliefs.
