When I first read the overview, I was excited to see that it wasn't another thing to do on top of the many things educators are already responsible for. The MITECS can be integrated into the core curriculum and seem very realistic!

I am so glad that the state of Michigan is finally focusing on technology implementation across the curriculum. When our district went 1:1 in grades 6-12 several years ago, we prioritized much of our professional development on training our teachers to enhance instruction with technology. Technology tools are definitely not something to be used only in the computer lab, and it's encouraging that the state is aligning standards with ISTE.

I like that there is integration of technology throughout the curriculum. I am a little anxious when I think about how little technology I have in my alternative ed building. But I do realize that it is an essential part of students' education today

Due to in increase in demand of technological knowledge in so many facets of our lives, I think it's great to begin integrating technology across the curriculum. I have taken several courses learning ways to do this within my classroom (middle/high school math and science), and it has most certainly enhanced the learning of my students. On the flip side, I hope that schools are able to support teachers by giving them resources and training needed to implement technology within their specific subject area, as it can be more challenging depending on the subject taught.
