Atatürk gifted this holiday to Turkish youth. It is celebrated by young people every year on may 19.
Public holidays lasts one day. 
We usually celebrate this holidays with poems,sports shows,halay dances and folk dances. 
May 19,the date Atatürk landed in Samsun,is celebrated as youth and sports day.
National holidays are celebrated in Republic Square.
