Not a lot of people had enough supply and they were not prepared for the winter. Half of the people who lived in Roanoke died in the winter because of disease. But the people who did survive were cold and starved.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the 1600s if you went to any church that was not the Church of  England , you were breaking the law. If you did, they would go after you. The Pilgrims were law breakers. They wanted to be free and do what they wanted. They wanted to  make their own church and rules. So they headed to North America. They took a boat and called it the Mayflower. They left in 1620. The 102 people on board faced rough seas. As they travelled across the Atlantic, they were hungry and some had diseases. After two months they reached their destination. Once they arrived Winter came and half of the people died.</div>]]></description>
