         <description><![CDATA[<div>Common law was a system of law-making which began in England in the 11th with the establishment by Willian the conqueror. During these times, laws were made to settle disputes. The common law changed and developed and different types of disputes developed and different customs evolved. Until the 17th century when British parliament increased its law making power, common law is now often referred to as 'judge made' law. <br><br>Statute law is legislation that has been passed through parliament. Both state parliament and federal parliament have the power to pass law within their area of influence. Each state looks after aspects of government such as rounds, transport, hospitals and education.</div>]]></description>
