Lunch was great! Always nice to sit with peers and chat!

I have learned so much about math & best practice. I am concerned that we are adding more to our teachers plates, anecdotal notes & conferencing for reading, writing & now math. What has come off their plates? Even though this is best practice, our teachers are feeling stressed at the Ele level to do it all. I am not sure what the expectation is for MS & HS, but the perception is that Ele teachers are working WAY harder than MS & HS (again perception).

Enjoyed the Power BI from Jill. Would like to have some more process time.

I enjoyed the discipline discussion, it was definitely a jumping off point. I have received kids from colleagues who were entering things in Eschool, but it literally looked like “Johnny went to the focus room four times today.” That doesn’t really tell me what the student was doing. Hopefully those honest conversations are coming.

I gained a great deal from listening to my colleagues as we discussed Tower entries. I am learning to be more specific in my feedback - both for kudos and for opportunities for improvement. It's taken me three years to learn how to leverage Tower to my advantage. Kudos to Bret for modeling how to use the feedback form for non-observed data points, such as positive email from parents, a teacher going above and beyond, teacher attendance at a non-required school function, etc. This has increased the number of data points I have provided this year and it's a great way to show teachers we are watching and we value their contributions to the school in ALL ways, not just in their daily teaching.

The discussions today were timely and relevant. I think they also highlighted the work to be done. Discipline/teacher evaluation are a DAILY part of our lives. Picking up on little hints and learning from others is always powerful. Thank you for structuring the time to allow for these conversations. I also appreciated the groupings for discipline.
