It is also a very reflective culture.  We know we don't have all the answers, but we are working to develop a system that works for our kids future world, not our past and with our openness to sharing and our willingness to reflect, this collaborative has helped move the educational system in the right direction.

Really trying to figure out how to leverage different revenue structures.  We do have members that are not fully accessing the Premium Membership because of geographic reasons and other factors.  

Can the costs be shifted to a more customized approach? Create sustainability by charging different fees for different services.

With changes in membership at the National level- can we make membership more of interest to educators from across the country.

Over the past couple of years, it's been a challenge to get learning facilitators together to collaborate during PD sessions and then bring that learning back into their classrooms or sharing at the school level. This is seen as being very important for some.

Worries- The fact that this conversation is hard because the dues are such a significant percentage of our income- we are at the beginning stages of generating income through other sources.

If we want to reduce the discrepency/differential between costs for different sized school districts, we may need to phase this in over a couple of years.

We may want to look at systems more similarly- the difference between the costs are most closely related to the number of free seats- vs. size of districts.

Maybe we should separate the costs of membership from the costs for PD.  This would create a more unpredictable fee structure vs. having the costs split among districts based on their size.

A question was raised about the 501 3C status and how this might support us in accessing grant funds.  There was a discussion about grant writing- we do have a tax number under RSU 12.  A thought was shared about the importance of having our own not-for-profit designation.

Conversation about having a customized approach to professional development needs- here's my base membership- calculated based on some size bands- not as significant differences as is the case right now.  

Look at what systems need and charge for the services.  Perhaps charging money for the progressions would generate funding.  The core values work was also mentioned.

Some systems might be limited by the current fee structure with respect to the value the membership- the importance of the cohort isn't necessarily reflected in the amount a system values the membership.
