Arriving Syrian refugees in Australia may experience a number of urgent health issues, with mental health being the most prevalent one. They may develop significant mental troubles, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety, as a result of the trauma they've endured, particularly conflict and displacement.

Furthermore, there are worries that these refugees may have been exposed to transmissible diseases in congested refugee environments, including cholera, malaria, and TB. To stop outbreaks, rapid screening and treatment are vital.

Additionally, delays in routine vaccinations caused by displacement might make refugees more vulnerable to illnesses that can be prevented by vaccination. Their health is at risk, as is the health of the whole Australian population.

A comprehensive strategy is required to address these issues, including behavioural health care, regular screening, immunisation programmes, and healthcare access. Prompt intervention is key to ensuring the well-being of Syrian refugees and protecting public health in Australia.

Australian Refugee Health» Primary Care for People of Refugee Backgrounds.

I consider health as the harmonious balance between physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It is waking up energised and eager to take on both the challenges and pleasures of life. The ability to think, learn, and adapt supports personal development. Health to me is determined by many factors, e.g. what we eat, how we talk, what we think and how we live. My greatest asset is my health, which enables me to appreciate everything around me, address problems with grace, and enjoy each day as if it were the last.

After reading domain 7 of the 'Culturally Responsive Clinical Practice' standards. I am mindful that my cultural background, beliefs, values, and prejudices can have a significant impact on how I conduct myself as a professional. This self-awareness, though first difficult, is essential for giving high-quality care to people from various cultural backgrounds.

As I think about it, I've realised how significantly patient outcomes and interactions are impacted by cultural competency. In addition to being aware, I will actively seek out educational opportunities, including training in cultural sensitivity, and capitalise on patient experiences to improve my competency.

I'm still fully committed to this adventure. I'll keep reflecting on myself, pursue new knowledge, and incorporate cultural awareness into my routine. In accordance with the concepts of Domain 7, my objective is to promote a healthcare environment characterised by respect, understanding, and the embracing of many cultural perspectives.

mrwhpadmin.

Access to Affordable Health Services of Decent Quality: Ensuring migrant and refugee populations have access to affordable, high-quality healthcare is critical to their overall well-being. Due to limited access to healthcare services, prompt medical attention and preventative treatments might be compromised resulting in health inequities within these populations.

Housing: Access to safe and stable housing is critical for good health. However, due to circumstances such as low income and prejudice, migrants and refugees have difficulty finding proper housing. Substandard living circumstances, such as overcrowding and environmental concerns also endanger individuals' health.

Discrimination and Social Inclusion: Social inclusion is critical for mental and emotional well-being. Discrimination can discourage people from obtaining medical attention, limit their access to school and jobs, and encourage feelings of social alienation and anxiety. Furthermore, unfavourable stereotypes about refugees can worsen these issues, preventing integration and equal access to resources and opportunities.
World Health Organisation.

The fascinating corroboree is a prominent ceremonial dance that is a part of the richly embedded Indigenous traditions of Australian dance. Through rhythmic movements, bright body paint, and didgeridoos, these performances pass on stories, history, and spiritual connections, acting as a method of cultural preservation and fostering communal ties. A vibrant celebration of variety, innovation, and the ongoing connection to the land and its Indigenous origins has resulted from the combination of ballet and hip-hop forms with Indigenous dance in Australia. This multicultural nation's diverse culture has also influenced other types of dance as well.
(“Corroboree | Australian Aboriginal Rite | Britannica,” 2020)
Corroboree | Australian Aboriginal rite | Britannica.
