My parents divorced about 4 years ago when I was a junior in high school. Since, it has just been my three sisters, me, and my mom. I am the second to the last on the right, one of my younger sisters, Brittni, is the last one on the right, my older sister, Alaina, is in the wedding dress, and my youngest sister, Carys, is the farthest to the left. Growing up the last couple of years, Carys has had it differently than the rest of us had, I have grown up parenting her, and I see her as one of my children. This photo was from this summer when my sister got married! My family grew and I received an amazing brother-in-law. My sister and I were both maids of honor, but after my grandparents' recent death, the wedding brought all of my family together. It was a very special and sentimental time. One thing you will notice if you meet my family is that we are all very close with one another, we value the importance of relationships!

I have grown up in the Northwest Arkansas area for my entire life, I attended high school at Bentonville West High School and then moved on to the University of Arkansas. This picture is me and my little sister, Brittni, at my High School graduation in 2020. I played competitive soccer for years and was also on the soccer team at school, the Lady Wolverines. So, a big part of my childhood and growing up in Arkansas was always being at the soccer fields, Saturday morning games, and weeknight practices. My family originally moved from Cabot, Arkansas when I was still very very young, so I don't have many memories of living there. My family has moved all around, to Bentonville, Rogers, Cave Springs, Centerton, etc., while the rest of my family still lives in Cabot and Batesville. Although we live down here, my sisters and I grew up taking trips to visit my family and stay with my grandparents during the holidays and every summer. Although I have never really lived in another state and don't have anything to compare to Arkansas, it is my home. I have grown up driving the roads, biking on the trails, hiking at Devil's den and petit jean, and eating at the same restaurants. It is a huge part of who I am and why I grew up the way I did!

Growing up, I was never certain what I wanted to be or go to school for. I had interests but wasn't completely certain until I started the Ignite Education Innovation program my senior year of high school and worked in a daycare my junior year. The Ignite Education Innovation program was a professional studies program that prepared you for college by giving you hands-on experiences, it required an internship where I led a classroom through their lessons for an entire semester. After being in a classroom and working closely with children, I fell in love with it! I realized that not only were the children excited to see me but I was excited to see them every day, they were making an impact on my life without trying to. With this passion, I chose the path of childhood education at the University of Arkansas leading to MAT. I am currently in my junior year and loving it. I am going into schools getting observation hours and experience creating lesson plans, reading to students, and just learning how to manage an entire class of 6-year-olds at one time. Not only is the need for teachers crucial right now, but teachers with the right amount of self-control and patience. With the path I am on, I will graduate from the University of Arkansas witbachelor'selors in 2024, then will go on to complemaster'sasters with my teaching license in 2025.
