He has multiple fathers and brothers so that he knows he has many people to rely on and many who can rely on him. During the final test one of the fathers helped the spiritual mentor to finish his push-up, which showed him that they will support each other. Another appeal that is logical is how his close family have taken the place of his father in the absence of his father. They brought you up like fathers, so then they are your fathers. 
He also uses religion as an emotional appeal. Through this, he shares how God is always there for him. 
Through the push-ups it is seen that the people around him will always be with him through thick and thin, quite literally.
