Before you read:
-What are the five senses? Which parts of our body we use for sight? -Can you see in the dark? Why? Share your answer with your classmate.
Your eyes are at work from the moment you wake up to the moment you close them to go to sleep. They take in tons of information about the world around you — shapes, colors, movements, and more. Then they send the information to your brain.
How do our eyes work? If you are in a dark place where there is no lights at all, can you see anything? No, you can’t because our eyes need light to be able to see! So, our eyes need light to work. Your eyes do some great things for you, so take these steps to protect them:
• Wear protective goggles in science lab at school.
• Don’t use smart phone or watch T.V for a long time. • Wear sunglasses if you need to.
Your eyes are a blessing, so take good care of them.
 -Suggest a title to the text.
- Use the internet or visit the library and read about the eye and its parts. Share your findings with
your classmates.
- Think of other things you should do to protect your eyes. Share your ideas with your
