I use breakout rooms a lot. However, I think I can improve the learning experience with some tweaks.

Ideas:

Create a video to that demonstrates how to join a breakout room, ask for help, share screen.

Give students a shared workspace in the breakout rooms. So far I have done this using Google Slides, but I think I could use more engaging slides with a template or by using Padlet, Google Keep.

Create specific roles for participants. This could include a list tasks and phrases each might use as they engage with each other.
