We were reading a book series called the "Expanse" which I found very uninteresting because it was science fiction and then every time, I found myself reading I was unsatisfied, and I wasn't bettering myself as a writer. I end up failing that writing class because of my final essay I turned in and the professor quoted in the commented that my essay was repetitive, but I had all requirements plus I personally felt that was the best essay I did in that class.

I found myself getting better as a writer as we have weekly "Labor Log" reflections about what are we doing to be a better writer weekly or what could have we done better as a writer and stuff like that which I saw myself progressing through the processes. Even the readings Professor Bay assigns us like “How to Tame a Wild Tongue” by Gloria Anzaldua or “Should Writer Use They Own English” by Vershawn Ashanti Young. Those were writings I saw myself benefitting from because you gain knowledge from hearing other writers experiences of how they became such genuine writers.

1st Semester: Digital Writing

Something I did learn through my first writing 1 course is that we're all digital writers and that's the type of writer I am today. It was a book called digital writer from my writing class in the 1st semester and it help me gain a lot of knowledge because it made some much sense of how someone is and can become a digital writer and actually talked about the art of writing which I thought was pretty cool. I saw myself become a digital writer in March 2020 when the pandemic started, and we had to do school online. It became easier as I start coming to college because the number of notes and work, I have to do, it's just easier keeping all of that information installed in separate files in my computer.

I've grown a lot as a writer in general but mostly Professor Bay's writing class has helped me evolve as a writer and see a true writer for what they are. I am a true writer because of my emotions I apply in my writing and how I've shown in my personal narrative the struggles of being a writer through high school going into college to now then I'm still going to grow along the way.
