Why I chose this website was to show that a large section of payment fraud is targeted to businesses especially bigger enterprises, but they continue to take consumers information to complete their payment frauds. It is good to be aware of the types of ways they are targeting businesses as they are using your information and could use those same methods on the consumers as well.

The reason I chose this website is because CIBC is a well-known financial institution that are giving helpful tips to use as well as giving you information to look out for and keep in mind. Knowing different ways card fraud can occur to you will help you know what to look out for and be mindful how and where you use your card.

This website I found interesting because it discusses that young Canadians between the age or 18 – 34 are more likely to fall victim to authorize push payment frauds, more likely to have money loss compared to older Canadians as we are manipulated more under false pretences online.

The reason I chose this website is because this website gives you tips to reduce becoming a victim, warning signs and as well what to do after. We must become knowledgeable to reduce the risk with being careful and alert with our cards and accounts. Even if we are super careful, we are all still at risk and should know what to do when it does occur.

We will also look at ways how to deal with the aftermath if you fall a victim of debit or credit card fraud.

I found this video to be interesting because we sometimes wonder what the safety precautions our credit card companies are doing for us or why our banks may freeze a payment or account because of an “irregular” purchase we made. I have had passed experience where the bank thought my purchase was not normal for me because I was buying something spontaneously.

It is good to know this so that if we happen to make a big purchase we do not normally do to make sure you verify with your bank you will be doing a big purchase or confirm after that it is in fact you.

This is helpful having step by step instructions as someone might feel frustrated and overwhelmed and not know what to do first or may do a few steps and not to go further to cover their bases to make sure all parties that should know have all the information and potentially get reimbursed your full/ partial money loss.

The reason for the selection of this video is to make us aware of different fraud schemes happening around us in Canada to be aware of. This was targeted to financial institutions and businesses and not consumers, but it is important to know these things and pay attention. It shows how they could even take our personal information and use it to take out credit cards in our names.

This video shows another way fraudsters can gain your information when you think you are on a secured website once you give your name, email, address, and credit card information they may still be able to take that information and use it for their use. It’s a reminder to look at your own online security to make sure you are protected.

The way they can gain information through people's online shopping, how they can have plant fake debit ATM's to get pin numbers, and creating "official" looking emails to trick people.

#1: she leaves most of her credit cards at home and only carries her U.S. Credit card as most places take USD money and so that no one can steal or take her other credit cards abroad.

#2: When she is travelling she has to let her bank know she is leaving and will be spending money abroad as a safety feature so that they do not deny or freeze payments on the account that they may deem potentially fraudulent.

She has also had fraudulent activities happened to her accounts in the past where she has had to quickly cancel accounts. So I have learned information from her and after researching this topic I see what she's learned herself and more

We must all look into prevention tips that helps reduce the risk of having fraud happen to us and start implementing those tips and be on high alert and set up extra safety precautions to make it harder for people to get our personal information.
