The central idea of "I Couldn't Imagine Wanting to Dye My Hair Blond" Is to believe in yourself and never doubt yourself. According to the text it states "In the middle of my siblings, stuck in the middle of two cultures, and not accepted by either. This quote is important to the claim because it shows how mendoza feels like she is not accpeted by either of her familys. This shows how she is doubting herself feeling she is not accepted. Another piece of evidence is that in the text it states "Im proud of being Hispanic, but as i matured, i have learned not to be ashamed of my ethnicity" This qoute shows how mendoza learned to believe in who she is and not be ashmed of who she is, also she is proud of who her culture. This shows that you need to mature and belive in who you are as a person. In conclusion, The Central Idea of "I Couldn't Imagine wanting To Dye My Hair Blond"

The Central idea of "I Couldn't Imagine Wanting To Dye My Hair Blond" is that you should be proud of who you are, regardless of what people say about you. In the text, it states," As I have matured, I have learned not to be ashamed of my ethnicity." This supports the Central idea that as you become older, you'll realize that no matter what people say about you, don't let them judge your ethnicity. The text also says," Instead of hiding who I really am, I have embraced my Mexican heritage and have become proud of it". This also supports the idea that you should share your culture with your fellow companions, even teach them about your culture so they can get to know you better. In conclusion, The Central idea of "I Couldn't Imagine Wanting To Dye My Hair Blond" is that you need to be proud of who you are and don't let anyone bring you down.

The overall central idea of "I Couldn't Imagine Wanting to Dye My Hair Blond" is to embrace your ethnicity. This is the overall central idea because in the first part of text Mendoza was feeling insecure, not only because she was different, but also because of the teasing. Evidence from paragraph 2 states," By the time I was in grade school, the teasing began, and I was hurt and confused. Also the text states, "Didn't all grandmothers call their grandchildren mija? Why did everyone except me have blue eyes?" This shows how Mendoza looked different and being teased made her feel insecure. " Looking back, I couldn't imagine wanting to dye my hair blond to feel better about myself . The blond girls are unique in their own way, but diversity make the world go round. This shows how Mendoza felt after she started to embrace her ethnicity.

According to the text'' I felt I was stuck somewhere in the middle of my siblings, stuck in the middle of two cultures, and not accepted by either.'' According to the text''I have matured,I have learned not to be ashamed of my ethnicity. Instead of hiding who I really am, I have embraced my Mexican heritage and become proud of it.''
