Richard Curtis was born in November 8, 1956 in Wellington, New Zealand. He is a British screenwriter, producer and director. He wanted to write a film about a lot of different people, each with his or her own story. He also wanted the people to be connected to each other in some way, so he wrote this book.

This book tell us about the story of 8 couples from different ages and circumstances dealing with their love lives. They encoutered their love in different ways and a lot of things happened before Christmas one month. Because they are in love, so they have many moments together and also have many moments together and emotions such as feeling loved, sad and alone or even hurts.

This book seems very romantic and have a lot of feelings when reading, which present a very interesting and exciting stories behind. So I guess the ending of the book will be full of happiness.
