Not everyone had to focus on food so people could do more things that they enjoyed like art or pottery. Agriculture also helps support everyone including the people who aren't directly involved with food.
Done

I would argue that hunting and gathering also changed the environment. They would hunt and pick everything that they could in a given area until there's almost nothing left. Maybe even to appoint where it doesn't gro back. So then they would have to pick up everything and go somewhere else and do the same thing. Also the hunter gatherers did not herd either. Herding is an alternative to both.
Done

Going off what "Dad" was saying, agriculture paved the way for human civilization. It allowed groups of people to settle in one area and truly cultivate and nurture the soil for their crops. The cycles of cultivation and harvesting allowed us to learn the value of self-sufficiency versus reliability. Done.

To counter what Dad said about agriculture allowing for more specialization and people having more time for art and things they enjoy, I would argue that hunter gatherers had more leisure time with which they can learn new things and practice art and music and such. The crash course video mentioned that hunter gatherers spent a lot less time working for food, which allowed more time for things like art and sex. Also, the Diamond article mentioned certain hunter gatherer tribes spent less than 20 hours a week working for food, which is less than half of what an average worker today spends at work, meaning they would have had even more time for leisure and things they enjoy.

Going off what "Dad" first said, about there being a better food supply and less people being hungry. Many hunter-gatherers dealt with starvation and never knew exactly where their food was going to come from. Agriculture works for their own food, while hunter-gatherers were depending on nature to supply for them. They were constantly moving around and trying to find food. As said in the excerpt "Back of History" by William Howells, he states that there are only so many wild animals and fruits they're able to eat because of nature. He also says "nature is in control, not they."

Going off of what "dad" said about not everyone having to work in farming, that is very true. People weren't tied down to only having one job, people could spend time just doing art, or just making music, or just storytelling, or even just watching the kids. In the Paleolithic society everyone had the same job which left no room for diversity.
