We have to follow state standards. You strive to teach as many of the standards as you can. This year is very challenging and we will need to concentrate on the priority standards. If you do not have all of the equipment that you need to teach a standard, you would have to improvise to the best of your ability. This would mean pulling in any outside resources that you can find, reaching out to other educators that also teach your courses, and networking as much as you can. Ask for help and let others know what you need. It also helps to have administrators that are supportive of CATE programs and want to see yourself and your students succeed. You have to be more creative and come up with ways to teach that don't necessarily require your students being f2f. Ex. My HS 2 students did a handwashing practical for me via video. Ask our administrators to request more funding to obtain the needed equipment.
